The meeting addressed a range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, reviewing the progress achieved in general and higher education in recent years, as well as the expanding scope of activities in the fields of arts, culture, and international cooperation.

Welcoming the delegation led by Deputy Chief Executive of the British Council Kate Ewart-Biggs, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan highlighted the longstanding partnership between Armenia and the British Council, particularly in English language teaching, institutional cooperation within the framework of the Academic City program, and the fields of culture and youth.

“The British Council is one of Armenia’s key partners in implementing education reforms in recent years. Together, we implement programs that are in high demand among beneficiaries and have a significant impact on the quality of education. Our joint experience in developing teachers’ professional competencies could also serve as a valuable example for other countries,” the Minister noted, expressing hope that the scope of cooperation will continue to expand.

The parties discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Armenian and British universities, as well as to enhance the capacities of school leaders and education management professionals.

Kate Ewart-Biggs, Deputy Chief Executive of the British Council, noted that this was her first visit to Armenia and that she was impressed by the country’s culture. She also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation across various fields, building on the successful experience already established.
