Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan today received the representatives of the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia NGO. Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan also attended the meeting.

Alexandr Shaghikyan, Chairman of the Board, presented the activities of the Organization, noting that the Club serves as a professional platform bringing together graduates of the University of Oxford working across a range of professional fields.

The meeting also addressed the Armenia–United Kingdom Business Forum, scheduled to be held in Yerevan for the first time on October 5–6 in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Economy. Organized by the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia, the forum aims to promote economic cooperation between Armenia and the United Kingdom, as well as to strengthen educational and cultural ties.

Minister Zhanna Andreasyan highlighted the significance of the Oxford Alumni Business Club of Armenia as a professional platform that facilitates knowledge exchange and the establishment of professional ties. She emphasized that the organization’s activities align with the Government’s policy of leveraging the potential of highly qualified professionals educated at the world’s leading universities for the benefit of the country.

“Armenian citizens who have studied at universities ranked among the top 50 in the world’s leading higher education rankings may be exempted from compulsory military service after working in priority sectors defined in Armenia for at least three years,” the Minister noted.

Zhanna Andreasyan also referred to successful programs implemented with the British side in the fields of culture and education, highlighting the “Mother Goddess: From Anahit to Mary” exhibition, organized through cooperation between the History Museum of Armenia and the British Museum.

The Minister also emphasized the cooperation with the British side within the framework of the “Academic City” program, expressing hope that this cooperation will be ongoing.

The meeting also covered the participation of higher education institutions in the Armenia–United Kingdom Business Forum, the formats of individual events, and various organizational issues.
