RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan met with Georgia’s Minister of Sport, Shalva Gogoladze, in Tbilisi.

The parties discussed the continuation of Armenian-Georgian cooperation in sport and opportunities to further expand bilateral engagement, particularly through joint training camps and the organization of major regional and international sporting events.

Shalva Gogoladze noted that he has received an invitation from Armenia to attend the 10th International Francophone Games, scheduled to take place in 2027, and expressed his willingness to discuss matters related to Georgia’s participation.

Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized that Armenia attaches great importance to Georgia’s participation in the Francophone Games, noting that such events provide an important platform not only for advancing sports cooperation but also for strengthening ties between the youth of the two countries and fostering friendly relations.

The parties also highlighted the importance of jointly hosting the 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cup, emphasizing that this major sporting event represents not only a significant milestone for Armenia and Georgia but also an important opportunity to promote cooperation, exchange expertise, and strengthen regional partnerships.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers held a joint press conference.
